The trailers for this really turned me off, but it turns out to be quite watchable. Sasha Baron Cohen is a real highligt as Julian the Lemur King.

Bambi II [dvd]
Disney have made their share of crappy offshore sequels (Little Mermaid 2, anyone?) but this is not one of them. The reverence that the production team has for the original is clear, and while one could hardly expect a direct to DVD production to live up to the original, this sequel is far better than we have any reason to expect. This is the masterpiece which set the standard for all animated features that followed. From the hand painted backgrounds to the exquisite music, this restored edition is powerful good.

Wallace & Gromit - The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (Widescreen Edition) [dvd]
This feature delivers W&G in a full-length feature. It has everything the shorts had, plus a bit more development of other human characters. Sadly, the loss of the entire Aardman props warehouse in a fire shortly after the release of this film means it's unlikely that W&G will return to the screen. (finished: February 11, 2006)
